With the new season of Game of Thrones in full swing, we are back to seeing some of our most favorite badass ladies fighting/revenging/plotting/queening their way through an endless amount of compelling drama. While we can’t tell you for certain who will end up earning that iron throne, we thought we’d take a look at some of our top female characters from the series and select necklaces that capture their style. Consider these fine jewelry picks for your GOT cosplay or simply to capture the character’s essence without the drama!
Daenerys Targaryan
No list can be complete without the Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains, Blah Blah Bloop, yes the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys Targaryan. On the series, she tends to wear more natural, bigger statement making pieces, influenced perhaps from both her regal Valyrian and Dothraki backgrounds.
For Dany, we have selected this wonder from the artisans at Tacori for its exquisite merger of royal and earthy tones. This luxury necklace (model #SN126P17) from their Vault collection is created from sterling silver (925) and a multitude of cushion cut quartz stones. Crafted to perfection, this choker is next-level sophistication and class.
Sansa Stark
Marked by beauty and lady-like poise, it was been a long and tough road for our red-headed damsel. Until recently, Sansa’s look has been fairly feminine and light, featuring mostly light blues, and pinks in her wardrobe, but the torture she endured in the last few seasons brought us a new, darker Stark. We’re not sure how much further this somber Sansa will go, but we certainly miss her optimism and cute wardrobe.
Our pick is an easy one, as the lovely shade on this pendant is perfect for the still-fairly-innocent-player. From Tacori’s Sonoma Skies collection, this necklace (model #SN20502) is dangly cuteness. The necklace is made of sterling silver (925) and charming topaz gemstones. Plus, we really love that the resemblance to the necklace she wore for the Purple Wedding is uncanny.
Margaery Tyrell
Dead, we know, but her look was one of the most fashion-forward on the show. Mixing beauty, elegance, and some sex appeal, Margaery Tyrell definitely had an enviable charm. Boasting House Tyrell’s signature rose emblem, the bulk of Margaery’s clothing and jewels were flora inspired. Additionally, her wardrobe also consisted of lighter colors and deep precious metals which complemented her hair and skin tone.
For the one time queen, our pick goes to this ultra-glamorous find from the designers at Hearts on Fire. Featuring a bevy of diamonds upon diamonds, this Aerial Diamond Collar necklace has the added charm of being crafted from the very in-style 18-karat rose gold.
Arya Stark
The youngest remaining Stark has come a long way from her “never a lady” days to the bonafide murderess we know now. The once quirky, always a tom boy character is usually seen sporting commoner’s clothing, and sometimes rags. Arya forgoes luxury and looks for comfort and flexibility. Instead of wearing the dresses typically seen on noble ladies like herself, she wears more masculine articles of clothing.
Needless to say, for Arya jewelry is minimal, if any. We’re in it for the fun here, so we picked a youthful brand to represent the youngest Stark. From Luv AJ (now available at GMG Jewellers in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), this lace-link choker would be the sort of thing Arya would into. The would be industrial design enthusiast would like that the necklace is made from brass and fits like a true choker.
Cersei Lannister
Current owner of the iron throne, Cersei Lannister continues to plot her way through one deception after another to retain her reign as ruler of the seven kingdoms. As one of the strongest players in the game, she is often seen in long regal gowns in deeper shades. After losing all her children, she too undergoes a sort of change in style. In the latest seasons, Cersei is seen wearing almost always black, fully covered clothing.
For one of the most evil characters out there, we thought a deep red jewel would suit her best. Not only is the Simon G necklace (model #MP1598) dripping in 18-karat black and white gold, but the designer necklace features both a pave of glitzy white diamonds and several mesmerizing rubies in a daring pear or teardrop shape.
It’s difficult to pick looks for just these few ladies as there are so many interesting characters on the show, do you have other show favorites? Send us your thoughts via our Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
